We guess if you are going to make a statement you should have some reason. Granted, under the Bush administration coming to a conclusion doesn't seem to necessitate good reasons (or reasoning). However, since that is not our preferred method, we will provide you with a short list of reasons for our democratic leanings, although we could go on for days. The bulleted list provided should exonerate us (well me anyway, there is no excuse for my brother) from any claims that we are in fact the jackasses:

  • Bush turned a $236 billion surplus into a $422 billion deficit. This is just one of the ways in which Bush is not just a bad president because he is failing the now and future citizens of America, but he is also a bad Republican since he is failing to uphold their own core tenets with his frivolous spending.

  • Bush has spent more than $150 billion on the war in Iraq. A war he wanted not one we needed to begin. A war that has taken the lives of over one thousand of our brave soldiers and wounded over 8,400. 24 more deaths during this last assault on Fallujah; we had already gone into Fallujah in May of 2004 and just before taking control this administration told our troops to pull out against the advice of the commanding officers there. They told them to pull out and wait and they did, now 24 more families will be notified that they have lost a loved one. Who besides the insurgents did they think was going to take over Fallujah, Santa Claus? Go to http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2003/iraq/forces/casualties/ to add insult to the loss of our troops the Bush administration even sent some of these Americans into battle without proper protective armor.

  • The war has resulted in over one hundred thousand dead Iraqi civilians (so far). This administration has made clear it "has no plans" to determine the total civilian casualty toll. Why would they want to be accountable for "collateral damage?" Remember that a civilian is someone just like you or me-a person who has not given their consent to involve themselves in a war (as opposed to a soldier), an innocent person whose life has been turned into a living nightmare as they watch their homes, businesses, friends, neighbors, and families be brutally wiped out of existence knowing all the while that they face the same fate-mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters, grandparents, lovers, best friends, babies Iraq has a population of around 25 million (though this number will drop now that we have launched our next strike), that means we have killed over .004% of their civilian population! If that number doesn't grab you, try this on for size: The US has a population of around 290 million (a number that drops every time one of our noble soldiers dies). If you killed .004% of our civilian population you could wipe out the entire state of Delaware and still have a few hundred thousand people to kill in various states of your choice! Call us a couple of candy-ass liberals, but murder is murder and this administration is rotten with murdering jackasses.

  • The Bush Administration reduced the enforcement of corporate tax laws, conducting fewer audits, imposing fewer penalties, pursuing fewer prosecutions and making virtually no effort to prosecute corporate tax crimes. Then, Bush gave a multibillion-dollar no-bid contract to Halliburton, - get some fun facts on Halliburton and Dick Cheney @ http://www.moveon.org/moveonbulletin/bulletin1.html and http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/archives/individual/2004_10/004860.php - the company that has repeatedly and grossly overcharged the military for inadequate services (such as serving our troops dirty food) and accepting kickbacks from subcontractors. Way to support our troops!

  • Bush has proposed to weaken the clean-air rules and put three times more mercury into our air and water than the existing rules allow. Rising mercury levels are a huge concern to us and they should be to you and everybody you love. Obstetricians, midwives, and pediatricians are warning pregnant women not to eat tuna, shark, and other types of fish because of the high levels of mercury that are a serious risk to the health of a developing fetus. Now, you must be a complete jackass if you preach the right to life of the unborn and then create and support policies and regulations that will directly cause an increase in the rates of babies being born with brain damage, mental retardation, blindness, seizures, and speech impediments all in the name of profit.

  • Bush's "Healthy Forests Initiative." Is it really a great way to stop catastrophic wildfires? One of the main causes of modern day burns is fires caused by logging trucks and equipment. Bush's plan actually increases logging on 190 million acres, which could lead to more and bigger fires. While he was at it, the Bush administration weakened environmental protection on 234 million acres.

  • Bush executed 152 people while he was governor because he is tough on crime, yet the first year he was president, clean-air inspections fell by 30%, while clean-water and clean-air criminal referrals declined by 50%, and criminal referrals for violations of rules controlling toxic substances dropped 80%.We guess he's tougher on some types of crime than others because we feel much better when you execute a mentally handicapped criminal, while you let your friends drop toxic waste wherever they want potentially giving cancer to thousands of people. Oh, and it's the taxpayers who are going to be held financially responsible for cleaning up the toxic waste that is giving their children leukemia.

  • That's it we must stop. We would have loved to have touched on all the reasons, but there are really just too many. For a great concise list check out:
    http://www.thenation.com/doc.mhtml?i=20041108&s=facts

We are confident though that you can fill in the rest and that the list will continue to grow as the days of this presidency drag on. We hope that what little information we have supplied you with is enough to illustrate why we believe that Bush is an amoral, liar who lacks ethical consistency and is lead by profit, not by compassion, and certainly not by God-in short, he is a Jackass!

Please help us and others stay informed. Leave us with one more reason that Bush is a jackass and leave links to great information. Know of a bill that is about to be passed get it out there and let everyone know so we can all contact our congressperson Senators, Governors ex. We need to let them all know that this is not O.K. and we will not stand by while this administration pushes its agenda. Help us support democracy, and a future with honest, competent leadership.
